With reference to the announcement in late January that Round One of the SA Rally-Raid Championship in the Stella area had to be postponed due to the foot-and-mouth pandemic, we would like to assure you that we are attending to the revised 2026 SARRC calendar and hope to publish same in the next eight to ten working days.

To clarify the rumored uncertainty surrounding the Outeniqua event on 8, 9 and 10 May, which will now become Round One of the SARRC, it is receiving our undivided attention.

A lot of work has gone into the event, and we are working very closely with the landowners to ensure a challenging but enjoyable season opener. The event format will be a “mini marathon” of approximately 500 to 600 kilometres run over three days.

Friday, 8 May will kick off proceedings with stage one followed by stage two and three on Saturday with the final stage four to be run on Sunday, 10 May.

More information including route distance, programme of events etc. will be published in due course, however, as an incentive the event will score 1.5 points, as per a three-day marathon event with the entry fee levied as a two-day standard event.

Please rest assured we are doing everything possible to keep changes to a minimum to alleviate disruption and inconvenience for all.

Thank you for your understanding.
