Wildcard Lupini ready for Killarney Polo Cup attack
Cape home hero Giordano Lupini will make a surprise return to the CompCare Polo Cup at this weekend’s Killarney Extreme Festival races.
Franschhoek lad Lupini, who started from pole position for both 2022 Killarney Polo Cup rounds and took his maiden win at the Cape Town circuit in September, will add certain excitement among his former rivals in what is planned as a one-off outing aboard his Tork Craft Polo.
“We couldn’t just sit back and let everyone come to Killarney and not give it a go,” Giordano smiled as he unexpectedly rocked up ready to turn in a few shakedown laps in Thursday practice. “We thank our sponsors, Tork Craft Tools, Pabar Automotive Pressings, Red Earth Projects, and Bullion IT, for making this outing possible.
“It’s been like slipping on a glove to get back into it, NDT Racing is excited to have us back out here and everyone else has been delighted to be involved again. Yeah, I’m a touch rusty, but I’m confident that we’ll find our way back around here come quali Friday evening.
“We are here to give my loyal Killarney fans something to shout about this weekend, have a little fun, and who knows, maybe find some way to run a few more races this season. None of us can wait!”
