Like fishes out of water, Red-Lined will entertain in Knysna
Having rallied and raided across the four corners of the earth, from the Kalahari to the Arabian Desert, the Iberian Peninsula to the Andes Mountains, Moroccan fesh-fesh to the Gobi Desert and beyond, Red-Lined Motorsport is preparing for something completely different for the weekend of 1-3 May. The proudly South African international rally-raid car manufacturer is taking no less than five of its beasts to the Knysna Simola Hillclimb.
“And now for something completely different!” Red-Lined CEO Terence Marsh beamed. “We are off to the Simola Hillclimb to race up that tar ribbon, which means a different journey, a different event, very different terrain and of course a different tyre choice. But then with our same enthusiasm for adventure and performance! Clearly, we will be a bit like fish out of water, but this fun weekend gives us the chance to mix with and show what we are all about to a very different crowd.
“As such we expect to entertain more than to perform on the Knysna tarmac, while also showcasing our loyal partners, BFGoodrich, Motul, VAPS Insurance Underwriters, the Penta Motor Group and Dragon Energy as we finally get to see some action following the delays in the start of the 2026 South African Rally Raid Championship. We will be trying to be as competitive as we can, using an aggressive tarmac suspension set-up together with BFGoodrich K03 all-terrain production tyres, but this weekend is all about exhibiting to a different crowd, meeting new people, making new friends, and hopefully adding to an already spectacular show.”
Red-Lined will have no less than five of its FIA Dakar race cars at Simola. Terence Marsh will himself drive a Red-Lined Revo T1+ GTR, Philip Botha and Abrie Olivier their respective Penta Motor Group and VAPS HCV Insurance Revo SA T1+ V8s, and Peet Victor and Tyler Botha will attack the hill in a pair of VAPS HCV Insurance Red-Lined T1 VK50s. “Simola will be something completely different for us,” Terence Marsh concludes. “But we are really looking forward to the weekend and more importantly doing something different!”
