Round 2 of the South African Rotax MAX Challenge (SARMC) returns to Gauteng this weekend, where we will witness the prowess of 2023 National Cadet Champion Luhan de Wet. With his eyes set on improving his position in the Micro MAX championship standings, Luhan is a force to be reckoned with in this event.

As the national championship moves to Zwartkops Kart Raceway for the second of four rounds, all eyes are on rookie Luhan. Despite a challenging opener at Killarney, Luhan is determined to arrive at the Pretoria circuit with renewed confidence, ready to steer his championship campaign back on track.

The 1000-metre Zwartkops circuit is Luhan’s home circuit and boasts a one-of-a-kind flyover, where the circuit crosses over itself. The track’s sloping terrain offers excellent spectator viewing points and promises drivers an exhilarating and challenging ride.

“It’s always nice to race at your home circuit. It makes you feel a little more relaxed and confident. But to be the best, you must beat the rest, which means beating anyone at any circuit. While I believe the Cape drivers had an edge over us at Round 1, it is our turn to shine this coming weekend and I will certainly be giving it my all in front of my family and friends,” said Luhan.

The action all kicks off on Friday. Entry to the circuit is free, and spectators are encouraged to attend.
