Micro MAX rookie Luhan De Wet delivered a stellar performance at the second round of the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championships, which was held in Vereeniging over the weekend.

Amidst a fiercely competitive 11-grid field, Luhan, representing WORR Motorsport with the #627, secured the pole position ahead of Round 2 victor Matthew Shuttleworth. Despite his best efforts, Luhan couldn’t match Matthew’s pace in the race conditions, settling for second in Heats 1 and 2. In a more demanding final heat, Luhan finished fifth, but not without recording the quickest lap time of the heat. His combined results earned him a commendable second place overall, contributing significantly to his regional and national championships.

“It was a strong day out with some good results. Unfortunately, Matthew had a little extra today, and I wasn’t able to make a pass stick. Congrats to him, though. I’m looking forward to continuing the rivalry at the next one. Thank you to my team and to everyone for their support,” said Luhan.

With his sights set on the second national event at iDube Raceway on 3-4 May, Luhan will continue his rigorous preparation, buoyed by the valuable experience, and points he gained from the recent championship.
