New appointments move SA rally raid race car maker forward
South African rally raid race car manufacturer Red-Lined Motorsport has announced a revised and improved management structure to take the rapidly growing concern into the future.
“Red-Lined Motorsport has grown from a handful of enthusiastic off road petrolheads with big ideas a decade ago, to where we are today as a leading player on the international rally raid scene,” founder and CEO Terence Marsh confirmed. “This has prompted us to revise our management structure in order to cope with the demands of our ever-growing business.
“Today, Red-Lined Motorsport comprises of a 30-man team which supports our growing international client base and services our distribution hubs in Europe, China and the Middle East from our South African headquarters in Kyalami. Now with more than fifty cars in twenty countries around the world, we have had to review our management structure in order to best facilitate and service this increasing network. With this in mind we have made a few changes to our everyday operations and segmented the business into core pillars, each now under talented and experienced management.
“We have convinced successful race team manager, qualified mechanical engineer and experienced and respected racer Trevor Bland to stop playing within the other segments of motorsport and dedicate himself solely to running the operational side of our motorsport division. Trevor joins Red-Lined as our Motorsport Manager and takes over the daily responsibility of running the motorsport and activations side of our business.
“Along with this appointment, we have made a further three key appointments. The experienced Duncan Thersby has over the years engineered, fabricated, and developed our race cars into the works of engineering art they are today. Duncan now takes up the reins as Red-Lined Motorsport’s Performance Director. Duncan will focus purely on enhancing and maximising the performance of the respective products within our stable.
“Another Red-Lined Motorsport stalwart and major pillar of our business, the knowledgeable and experienced Graeme Thornton moves into the role of After Sales Director. With more than twenty years of experience within our space, Graeme is best positioned to manage this important part of our business and is charged with servicing and empowering our ever-growing international customer base and distribution network.
‘And finally, with the next generation in mind, the talented young Matthew Thersby who recently attained his honours and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering will step up to lead Red-Lined Motorsport’s engineering and development department. We have some thrilling new products in development under Matthew’s purview and look forward to rolling the first of those out soon.
“These are really exciting times for Red-Lined Motorsport,” Terence Marsh concludes. “We’ve grown from humble beginnings to proudly serve a burgeoning international customer base today. With the future in mind, we have now restructured our business to be more focused and better positioned to manage the ever-growing demand within the world of rally raid racing.
