A win, five podiums and two titles for Red-Lined

The Thabazimbi Northam Zondereinde Bushveld 400, final round of the South African Rally-Raid Championship, proved another successful outing for Red-Lined Motorsport over the weekend. Red-Lined built machinery took a class win, five podiums and clinched two championships in a rewarding end to the 2025 season. Eleven of the team’s thirteen locally built race machines that started the event, went on to finish to give Red-Lined an impressive 85% finishing rate.

“Another tough and demanding National event but a great way to finish off the 2025 South African Rally-Raid championship!” Red-Lined Motorsport team boss Terence Marsh smiled. “While our overall event results were good, it was extremely rewarding to win two class championships with our Red-Lined built cars in the SA Ultimate T1+ and T1 Adventurer classes. To add to this, we also had a brand-new VAPS HCV powered REVO T1+ V8 successfully finish its debut event without any issues.

“The sixth and final round 2025 SA Rally-Raid Championship Northam Zondereinde Bushveld 400 may have taken in spectacular scenery. But it was a tough and demanding race across a mix of dry, flowing riverbeds and bush-lined tracks dotted with muddy patches following good spring rains. A challenging route for every competing crew, but Red-Lined Motorsport once again rose to the challenge.”

It was another exceptional weekend for ever-consistent pairing, Philip Botha and Andries Mynhardt who romped home second in the Ultimate SA T1+ class and an impressive eighth overall to secure third place in the championship aboard their Penta Motor Group REVO T1+. The experienced Dutch duo of Dave and Tessa Klaassen followed in third in their DaklaPack Rallysport REVO T1+ GT-R, ahead of Abrie and Iaan Olivier on debut in their new VAPS HCV REVO T1+ V8.

It was also a tough but rewarding weekend for Danie Ludick and Denzil Williamson who fought back from a Friday technical issue to light up the timing screens throughout Saturday as they went on to finish fifth in class aboard their Elegant Fuels REVO T1+ V8. Behind them, Marko Himmel and Francois Schoonbee struggled home as the final finisher on the day, this after hitting a big rock and losing a considerable amount of time on Saturday morning. Finishing was however enough for the Namibians to wrap up the Ultimate SA T1+ championship title in their Red-Lined Navara Evo.

Gerhard and Rudi Heinlein stormed to yet another ever-competitive T1 Adventurer class win and an impressive ninth overall in their Red-Lined VK56. Second in class and an impressive 100% finishing rate was enough for Johan and Sean van Staden to wrap up the Adventurer championship. Sirkel-N teammates Nickus Heinlein and Jaco Kriel’s VK50 was third in class ahead of rookie crew, Martin van der Vyver and Rikus Hattingh in their Red-Lined REVO T1.

Johan de Bruyn and Adriaan Roets’ Falken Tyres REVO T1 was next home as they wrapped up the lucrative inaugural 2025 Red-Lined T1 Cup Championship following a consistent showing throughout the season. Peet Victor and Van Zyl Jonck had a high-speed roll on Friday, fought back to sixth in class in their VAPS HCV VK50.

“What a way to wrap up the 2025 National Rally Raid season,” Terence concluded. “Congratulations to our champions and our winners, and then to every member of our team and our supporters who contributed to an adventurous but rewarding season. Well done, one and all!
