The Northern Regions ROK Cup round on May 17 was packed with drama, action, and tough competition, and Egor Grishin once again showed why he’s a name to watch in South African karting.

Just a day before the race, during final practice, Egor was forced to leave the track with a painful gum inflammation. A dentist visit turned into a surprise tooth extraction — but even that couldn’t keep him from racing. He showed up, focused and ready to fight.

Qualifying – P5
Despite a rocky start to the day and tricky track conditions, Egor delivered a solid qualifying performance, placing P5 — a good launchpad for the heats to come.

Heat 1 – P3
Egor got a lightning start and jumped into P3. A first-lap crash between two front runners opened the door, and he calmly took advantage, holding his position to the finish with confidence and control.

Heat 3 – P5
The race was full of action from the start. A collision between drivers #16 and #24 forced Egor to take evasive action, dropping him to P6. He quickly recovered, fought back to P5, and began closing in on the lead group. By the final lap, he was right behind them — but the race ended just as the chase got exciting.

Heat 3 – P5
The final heat brought more chaos. When drivers #16 and #24 collided ahead of him, Egor had to react quickly, dropping to P6. But he fought back to P5 and began chasing down the lead group. By the final lap, he was right on their tail — but the flag came out just too soon.

Overall – P4
With consistent finishes across all heats, Egor secured P4 overall for the day — and climbed to 4th place in the championship standings. It was a weekend full of challenges, but Egor pushed through with heart, focus, and fight.
We’re proud of your spirit, Egor. This is how champions are made — one tough race at a time.
