Volkswagen SupaPolo leads Class D title chase to Pretoria 4 Hour

Volkswagen Motorsport heads to the fourth round of the 2023 MSA South African Endurance Series looking to consolidate its Class D championship at the Pretoria 4 Hour at the Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday 21 October.

Keagan Masters, who won the opening round alongside Daniel Rowe, returns from his successful European Porsche Supercup campaign to join Rowe in the Volkswagen Motorsport SupaPolo at Zwartkops. Masters replaces super-sub Graeme Nathan as the team continues its tight fight for Class D honours. “We are happy to welcome Keagan back into the fold at Zwartkops,” Head of Volkswagen Motorsport Mike Rowe confirmed. “That frees Graeme up to concentrate on managing the team in our quest to take our class title this year.”

“It’s good to have Keagan back in the car with me for Zwartkops and we look forward to putting our best foot forward in the Pretoria 4 Hour,” Daniel Rowe admitted. “We have had a good run so far, with a couple of wins and a close second in the first three races, but our class rivals have shown that they have the pace to disrupt after their win at Aldo Scribante last time out. With Graeme on pit wall and the guys ready to deliver, it should be another great weekend at Zwartkops!”

“I am really looking forward to getting back into the Volkswagen Motorsport SupaPolo in Zwartkops’ Endurance round,” Keagan Masters smiled. “It’s a different challenge, but I cannot wait to pick up where we left off with a memorable victory at the first round and hope I can make a difference for the team!”

“We enjoyed the upper hand with good tactics and speed to win the first two races, but Karah Hill and Jurie Swart responded with a great run to a well-judged victory in their Kalex Volkswagen Polo last time out,” Mike Rowe concluded. “That and the fact that our rivals missed a race and need not drop a round, makes for a very close Class D championship battle and we look forward to the next episode at Zwartkops.”
