Motorsport South Africa (MSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Carnita Low as Chairperson of the MSA Board of Directors, marking a historic milestone as she becomes the first woman to hold this position in the organisation’s history. Her appointment represents another step forward in breaking barriers and advancing transformation within South African motorsport.
Ms Carnita Low is an accomplished governance, legal, and ethics executive with over two decades of experience in listed and multinational organisations. She is currently the Group Company Secretary and Head of Governance, Ethics & Legal at FirstRand Limited, where she provides strategic leadership in corporate governance, corporate regulatory compliance, ethics oversight, and stakeholder engagement across South Africa, several African markets, and the United Kingdom.
Ms Low’s distinguished career includes senior appointments at African Oxygen Limited (Linde Group) and BMW South Africa, as well as prior roles at leading law firms. She holds a BA, LLB, and LLM from the University of Cape Town, a Diploma in Advanced Banking, and an MBA from Wits Business School. Additionally, Ms Low is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries, an admitted Attorney and Notary, and is currently pursuing a PhD in ethical leadership at Wits Business School.
