At just 17 years old, Vereeniging racer Morgan Jacobs continues to make her mark in South African circuit racing as she prepares for Round 3 of the Regional Extreme Festival at Red Star Raceway on 15 and 16 May.
Jacobs began her motorsport journey at the age of 15 in karting, progressing through the Silvercup 2.0 category in her space frame Carrado. Her passion for racing was inspired by her father, who also competed in Silvercup 2.0, with motorsport deeply rooted throughout her family.
Now competing as part of the Pablo Clark Racing Motorsport Development Program, Jacobs races in the BMW M Performance Parts Race Series with the support of BMW Bryanston. She currently competes in Class D and continues to gain valuable experience against strong regional competition.
Red Star Raceway holds special meaning for the young driver, as it was the venue where she completed her first practice session in a racing car and competed in her first race.
“The adrenaline motorsport gives you from the pits right up to the chequered flag, the passion and love I have for this sport is amazing,” said Jacobs.
One of her proudest moments so far came at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, where she raced for the first time after preparing extensively on a simulator ahead of the event.
Away from the circuit, Jacobs also enjoys horse riding and spending time with her horse, Battle Creek.
Describing her racing style as “gutsy, honest and adaptive,” Jacobs is focused on continuing her development throughout the 2026 season while inspiring more young women to become involved in motorsport.
