Cape Town’s Max Boshoff clinched his first major national karting title at Red Star Raceway this past weekend, rounding off a stellar 2025 campaign with yet another overall victory in the National Mini ROK Championship finale.
Racing for the Xtreme Racing Team, Max entered the final round as the clear favourite, and he duly delivered under pressure. Across the four heats, he was a constant at the front, recording three victories and a strong runner-up finish to seal the finale, seven clear of his nearest rival.
The triumph at Red Star not only confirmed Max as the 2025 National Mini ROK Champion but also underscored his dominance throughout the season. His consistency and speed were unmatched, with victories at multiple national rounds leaving no doubt about his place at the top.
“It’s a dream come true to win my first national title,” an elated Max said afterwards. “The competition has been tough all year, and I’m really proud of what we achieved as a team. Huge thanks to everyone at Xtreme Racing for their support and abig thank you to my family for their encouragement. This title means a lot to many.”
With the Mini ROK crown now secured, Boshoff’s reputation as one of South Africa’s brightest young talents continues to grow. Already a proven frontrunner in the Rotax Mini MAX category as well, where he is tied for the championship lead, he remains on track to become the first driver to potentially capture both national titles in the same season, a feat that would not only cement his status as one of the best of his generation but also inspire hope for the future of South African motorsport.
Max will face off against the top Mini MAX karters this weekend as the South African Rotax MAX Challenge season comes to a close at Zwartkops Kart Raceway. National titles and spots on Team South Africa are still up for grabs, with drivers aiming for a chance to compete at the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in Bahrain.
