Saturday 2 August 2025 delivered a stunning day with respect to weather and the on track racing was equally impressive with an initial 203 entries present for eleven categories and eighteen races.


Spirit Invest Sports & GT Cars
First on the track was the Spirit Invest Sports & GT category and sadly their initial 22 strong entry delivered only fourteen starters. Roy Obery forced to spectate after his neat Porsche 924 GTP suffered engine damage on Friday and the absence of the LMP based sportscars would have been great on such a near perfect day.


Charl Visser was taking no prisoners in his 33A Charl Electrical Engineering Porsche 992 GT3 and set a new ultimate GT3 lap record of 1min11.652 enroute to a first heat victory. Sadly it was then said the car was too loud and could not contest the second heat?


Connor Kilbride appeared in a lively 42A Racing Spirit Ligier JS53 Evo 2 and drove cleanly for a debut overall victory with Dawie Joubert claiming second in his slightly tamer 18B Wild Rose Gin Lotus Exige – VW 2.0. Tristan de Nobrega cruised to third in his neat 70C Racing Spirit BMW M3 with an entertaining Yanni Hatzi fourth in his 28C Nissan Silvia S24.


Richard de Roos looked comfortable in his fifth placed 44X Porsche GT3 with Jan Greef sixth overall in his 55D Nissan 350Z. Almost too quietly it was Clive Smith seventh in the 151D Porsche 924 1.8.


Sandro Biccari and Dawie Joubert enjoyed an entertaining battle but then the 3B VW Juno S3 1.8 ran into trouble and dropped to an eventual 8th overall. Marius Fourie taking ninth spot in his 58D PHB Racing Mercedes SLK V8 and the top ten completed by Weylin Volschenk in his somewhat damaged 52X IMC-SA Porsche GT3.


Batt Tech STC 650 & SSP 300 Motorcycles
Small entry of just fourteen machines with Nicholas Hutchings currently the class of the field aboard his 72 HSC Racing Kawasaki ER650. Adrian Solomon was taken to task before claiming second on his 4 Pool King Kawasaki ER650 and in close contention throughout was Max Munton (14 SunScan Kawasaki ER650) in third and Abigail Bosson (51 Project Sixty Kawasaki ER650) in fourth. Reinhardt Burnett home in fifth spot on his 54 Subsidium Kawasaki ER650 and in sixth spot it was Wesley Hendricks on the 78 Motorwise Motorcycles Kawasaki ER650.


Raymond Alexander claimed top honours in the SSP300 category aboard his 11 Rayder Cycles Kawasaki Ninja 400 with Bradley Mustoe second on his 7 CCHSA KTM RC 390. James Luyt third on his 74 RSRS Kawasaki Ninja 400 and Mitch Robinson a somewhat subdued fourth on his 71 Mag Workshop Kawasaki Ninja 400. Jordan Saayman fifth on yet the 177 Kawasaki Ninja 300.

BMW CCCT Series
25 Entries and 21 starters with a neat variety of cars present. Surprise of the day was Baby Jacobs in first place overall in the neat 42C Executive Decisions BMW E36 M, followed home by Mansoor Parker in his 46B Parkers Parts Centre BMW E46 M3 Turbo and the giant killing 50C Progress Precision Engineering BMW 328i of Marco Retter third.


Anwar Levy not happy in fourth spot withhis ailing 45C Jive BMW E36 M3 Turbo whilst Dexter Bruce in fifth spot enjoyed the “oil dipped” black 143D MYH Motorsport BMW E82 1M 3.2. Sixth on debut was Troy Dolinschek in a very neat looking 17F Industrial Abrasives BMW E87 3.0, mixing space with Dillon Joubert in the 444D Podwer Coating World BMW E46 330i and the 19E CRA Racing BMW E36 328i of Ernest Page.


Ebrahim Levy ninth in the 51F Jive BMW E30 325iS Turbo and the top ten completed by a determined Jmes King in his 7E Kings Auto Body Shop BMW E46 330i. Eleventh on debut was Lloyd Brady in his 41F Schildcrote Racing BMW E90 3.0 whilst Sebastian Swanepoel was somewhat less fortunate after contact with Gary Manwaring. The 111D KSD E36 328i 18th and the 14D Excelsior Airb Brakes E46 330i 19th. Arno Michels incurred a 30sec jump start penalty in his 911E Alkom Tool & Die BMW E36 328i but looked pretty lively on track.


Bejo Trustees Formula Libre
Just ten cars started and it was Dee-Jay Booysen that took overall victory in his 20S The Burner Factory Formula VW Reynard but of special interest was the debut of Kohen Bam in the Storm Lanfear 27S Formula VW Reynard. Scaring himself in the first heat the confidence grew and second place overall was never in doubt.


Good to then note two third generation members of the Swanepoel family making their main circuit debut. Sabastian Swanepoel (son of Koos Swanepoel Jnr) and Kohen Bam (son of Jacolize Bam neé Swanepoel).


Haydn Ellwood third overall in his 76B Wild Art Printing Formula SF92F Swift and in fourth it was Richard Carr in his neat49V ERA Racing Rhema 2. Joshus Smit wrecked his regular car during the previous meet and ran a borrowed 15V ERA Racing Rhema to fifth overall with James Beaumont sixth in his 8V iSquared Technologies Forza. Eudrich Huysamen looked good enroute to seventh in the 44V Chilli Racing Team Vee with Donovan Ramsay eighth in his 95V Kerston Foods Rhema.
API Property Group GTi Challenge


Great prospects for great racing and 26 starters eventually reduced to fifteen classified finishers after some robust racing and expensive accidents. Nathan Victor stayed out of trouble by staying ahead of everyone to win in his 71A Summit Racing VW Polo 6R with Schalk Geldenhuys certainly proving that he is now a real threat in second with the 10A G&A Motorsport VW Polo 6R. Ian Kapp survived some sketchy moments to claim third in his neat 65A Hydracor Hydraulics VW Polo 6R.
Fourth overall going to Weylin Volschenk in his 52B IMC-SA VW Polo 6 with Ismail Davids somewhat surprisingly not only winning class C but finishing saeventh overall in his 36C Cool Touch Racing VW Golf MkI 1.8. Connor Joubert eighth in his 90C Powder Coating World VW Golf MkI 1.8 and the top ten completed by Daniël Munna in his 33C API Property Group VW Golf MkI 1.8.


Surviving from lights to flag in this series is truly challenging, not to mention the fact that one has to wait for all the results to be finalised as there is bound to be protests and or technical infringements that could influence the results, not to mention expensive rebuilds required.


Ejaaz Majiet 74C, Tristan Joubert 90C and Nasser Gamieldien 37C lucky to escape with a few bruises and many good dices spoiled by robust tactics. Yes, it is entertaining, but so is hard clean racing.


Pirelli V8 Masters
8 Starters not their finest effort and Sean Moore first as expected in the 73 Ziegler Logistics APV347is with Alister Brown second in his 22 NAC Helicopters APV347is and Stuart Spooner third in the 55 machine.


Denis Gaiduk found an interesting line out of Turn 5 (in reverse) but could still claim fourth in his 9 Knorhoek entry with Gary Thomson fifth in his 17 machine.Ian Parsons cruising to sixth in his 33 Master Power Technologies entry.


Kaltron Supercars
Glen Phillips back on top in his 33 Pro Oil entry with Andrew Moffitt as his shadow in second with 39 Greymo Construction entry and in third it was Kyle Hallick in the 31 Pro Oil Supercar. Brad Fenner hung on to fourth in his Pro Oil entry with Shane Boscombe fifth in the 18 CRA entry and the top sexi completed by Nashrene Schloss in her 24 Lime Property Management entry.


10 car entry and 10 starters was good.


Thermo Fires Clubman Saloons
The first heat was probably the best race of the day with four cars running clean and close. Shane Smith was made to work extremely hard in his yellow 22A Truckport Logistics BMW E36 Turbo and looked like he might just gain the upper hand when he started to lock up under braking. Kyle Visser led the onslaught in his 337A Charl Engineering VW Polo Supercup racer and he was well supported by visiting Namibian racer, MP Pretorius, in his 790A Pretorius Racing VW Polo Turbo and the normally aspirated 29A Paint Chemistry VW Polo of Jaco Lambert. Lurking close by was Jess Huggett in his 70A Philwest VW Jetta 2.0.


Unfortunately the Beemer was sidelined after the first heat with differential problems but the VW battle at the front continued in heat two and it was Jaco Lambert who would eventually claim a fine first place overall from Kyle Visser, MP Pretorius and Jess Huggett with Gary Smith fifth in his 71B Truckport Logistics BMW E36 and in sixth it was Michael le Sueur in the 64A New Engineering VW Golf MkI 1.8.


Dillon Joubert won class C in the 444 Powder Coating World BMW E46 330i and in class D it was victory to Arno Michels in his 911 Alkom Tool & Die BMW E36 328i. Class E went to Evert du Toit in the mighty 651 New Engineering Ford Falcon and in class F Adrian Roberts won in his 145 Traction Driving Experience VW Golf MkI.


In class X a few combinations caught the eye with Wayne Wilson returning to Clubmans in his 23 Nissan Maxima 3.0, Clinton Bezuidenhout running his 57 Progress Precision Engineering VW Polo 6R, and Seth Griffin-Wintle present in a very good looking Stev’s Auto Services BMW E36 325i.


But, the 100 Stylesy Alfa Romeo 155 of Cody Alberts truly impressed!


Pirelli MGA Racing Clubmans, Classic & Breakfast Run MC
Also down to just ten starters Eeden Hyens ran clean for overall victory aboard his Clubman 82Total Waterproofing BMW S1000RR with the similar 84 Snap Change machine of Coenie Botes second and Conrad Meyer third aboard his 58 Suzuki GSXR1000.


Lubabalo Ntisana winning th e600 category aboard his 53 LB Auto Honda CBR600RR and in the Classc Superbikes it was William Morries and his mighty 13 Cagiva Raptor 1000 that attracted attention whilst John Kosterman and his always pristine 81 QESS Suzuki GSXR1100R ran into a few problems.


Hannes Jansen topped the Breakfast Runners on his 23 Insane Racing Suzuki GSXR750 with Gerhard Joubert second on his 47 Triumph Daytona 675 and Julien Louw third on his 48 Honda CBR1000RR.


Laude Classic Cars
35 Car entry and 29 Starters and a good variety of attractive, well prepared classic cars made this series a spectator favourite despite the fact that they were the final race of the day.


Michael Hitchcock drove the 67A Cross Cape Forklift Services Ford Mustang Notchback V8 to victory over the mighty 32A Donadio Plant Hire Ford Escort MkI 2.0 of Franco Donadio with Louis Powell third in the 151A Engine Hero Ford Ecsort MkI 2.0.


Trevor Momberg had to work hard to retain his status as the fastest Capri at Killarney and the 1B M&E Auto Ford Capri was pushed hard by the 414B Cape Eye Laser Ford Capri of Jarryd Evans, the 441B Cape Eye Laser Ford Escort MkI 2.0 of Brian Evans and the 68B Cross Cape Forklift Services Ford Mustang Notchback V8 of Ferdi Mouton.


Eric van der Merwe looked threatening in his 89A Lynx Motorsport Porsche 944 Turbo but he faded to eight with Boetie van Zyl ninth in his mighty 72B Extreme Auto Ford Fairmont GT 351cc. Dave Alhadeff claing tenth spot on his return in the neat 95B Intellibus BMW E30 325iS.


Layne Hutchings (74C HSC Racing VW Scirocco) pipped his father Trevor Hutchings (71C HSC Racing VW Golf MkII GTi) for a class win with Robert Rowe third in the 11B Veldt Reared BMW E30 325i.


Dave Rowley was in impressive mood with the 148D Flat 4 Racing VW Beetle winning class D from Herman de Kock in his 59D Ford Escort Mki and Malcolm Pheiffer in the 195D Alfa Romeo GT Junior.


Calvin Beekman claimed class E in the rapid 42E Rob Tissington Morris Minor 1293cc.


Josh Dovey was a welcome sight in his rare 26 Ginetta but did not enjoy a great day having disappeared ubder the bike barriers with stuck throttle and then rubbing elbows with the 85B BMW of Jared Thomson for good measure.


Summary
Possibly the best weather of the year, may 30 August produce more of the same for round 7.
