Championship leader Kayde Cornofsky arrives at Vereeniging with momentum firmly on his side as the National ROK Cup Kart Championship heads into its crucial mid-season phase. The Xtreme Racing Team driver holds a slender three-point advantage in the Mini ROK standings, but it is the manner of his campaign to date that underlines his intent. Three victories, two additional podium finishes, and a lucrative R25 000 prize already secured have positioned the former National Kid ROK Champion as the benchmark in the category.

Returning to a circuit that continues to shape his development, Kayde’s relationship with Vereeniging has evolved significantly. When the national championship last visited the venue in 2024, he was still finding his feet as a Mini ROK rookie. A year later, that narrative has shifted. Valuable regional experience in 2025 yielded a double podium at the circuit, forming part of a campaign that ultimately saw him crowned Northern Regions Mini ROK Champion. That progression now places him in a far more authoritative position heading into the weekend.

There is a growing sense of maturity in Kayde’s approach this season. His ability to convert pace into results, combined with a measured championship mindset, has proven decisive in what remains an ultra-competitive field. The margins are tight, and with two full rounds scheduled, maximising points across every session will be critical.

“I’m feeling really confident going into this weekend,” said Kayde. “We’ve worked hard to build consistency this season, and the results are showing that. Vereeniging is a track I’ve come to understand a lot better over the past year, and I know what it takes to be quick here. The goal is to stay sharp, fight at the front, and extend the championship lead. A big thank you to all my sponsors for their continued support, I couldn’t do this without them.”

The weekend format follows a familiar structure, beginning with a full day of practice on Friday, allowing teams to fine-tune their setups. Saturday and Sunday will each host a championship round, with early-morning qualifying sessions setting the grid for three high-intensity race heats per day. With valuable points on offer and the championship finely poised, the Vereeniging encounter could prove pivotal in shaping the title fight.

Kayde continues to proudly represent his supporters, Allegiance Properties, Canario Cornofsky Attorneys, Calisto’s Portuguese Restaurant, Smith Garage, the 357, Glads and AMW, alongside the expertise of the Xtreme Racing Team, as he looks to strengthen his grip at the top of the standings.
