Team Green shows the way in Gauteng GXCC regional

The Delmas Gauteng GXCC Cross Country race proved a happy hunting ground for Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Factory Racing with Scottish Cables and Motul on Saturday. Team Green riders stared with multiple podiums and strong results across the board on a cold and muddy track along the Mpumalanga plains.

“Delmas was another good race for Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Factory Racing with Scottish Cables and Motul,” team boss Iain Pepper confirmed.” We had a win and a second with two bikes in the top ten and good results across the board in a tough race in chilly and muddy conditions.”

The highlight for the team was Pieter Holl once again winning the Masters class aboard his Pepson Plastics Kawasaki KX 250 X. Already South African Masters Cross Country champion, Pieter has been in imperious form in both the Gauteng GXCCs and the National title chases, winning all but one race where he was a close second.

Jaycee Nienaber was another Team Green rider to star in a splendid second overall and second in the open OR1 class aboard his Pepson Plastics Kawasaki KX 250 X. Fifth overall, Wian Wentzel meanwhile made it two Pepson Plastics Kawasakis in the top five with a close second aboard his KX 250 X in the ultra-competitive OR3 Class.

Other Pepson Plastics Kawasaki riders to impress were Taki Bogiages, who eased back into competition following his recent injury to end fifth in OR1 on his KX 450 X. Jayden Boyce enjoyed a solid ride following his spectacular 125cc High School class holeshot. And Jake Pretorius rode like a star but he struggled after his mechanic got his gearing wrong.

“All in all, that was a positive day of racing in Delmas,” Iain Pepper concluded. “Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Factory Racing with Scottish Cables and Motul now enjoys a break until the Trademore National Cross Country Final in Mpumalanga on 9 September, but we still have two more GXCC rounds to race starting with Rustenburg in October. Well done team!”
