Cape Town’s Manelisi Nkomo heads to the coastal city of Gqeberha and its Celso Scribante Kart Track for the opening round of the MSA National Karting Championship, where a competitive field of Mini Rokkers all hope to walk away with the overall round spoils on 24-25 March 2023.

Based in Cape Town, Nkomo opted to compete at the opening MSA Northern Regions Kart Championship finishing ninth overall but, more importantly, claiming a podium heat placing in wet conditions. This weekend will see Nkomo compete against the nation’s best Mini ROK competitors in a class that is arguably the most competitive in South African karting. With a field of 15 at the time of going to press, Nkomo will be itching to compete for the podium placings.

“I always look forward to racing, no matter where it is. Celso will be my first, but I will give it my best. There are several practice sessions on Friday, so we will be pressed to make the best of every session. I have a great team in support, so I’m confident we can achieve some strong results this weekend. Thank you to all for the support,” said Nkomo.

Spectators are welcomed on the weekend, with Friday set aside for official practice. An entire racing program is set for Saturday, with the event also streamed live on the ROK Cup South Africa social media channels on Saturday.
