Mogotsi ready for the big Nürburgring race this weekend

Volkswagen Motorsport driver Jonathan Mogotsi is ready for the big day as he prepares for his Nürburgring 24-hour race debut at the legendary circuit on 18-19 May. It has been a long road, including Mogotsi earning his Permit A ‘Ring Licence’ at the March NLS2 4-hour race, before racking up more seat time in the April NLS3 4-hour.

“After earning my Nürburgring Permit A in the March race and gaining more experience in the April 4-hour qualifier, I feel ready to compete in the epic 24-Hour race next weekend,” Mogotsi says. “It was great to get stuck into the April race where I once again learnt so much. My biggest takeaway is that traffic management on the track is paramount, but I would say that I am as prepared as I will ever be for my 24-hour race debut.”

“My Nürburgring 24 journey has been an eye-opener over the past few months. Video games come nowhere near showing how narrow, bumpy, and blind the Nürburgring corners are, but now it is full focus on the big race aboard my Max Kruse Racing Volkswagen Golf 8 GTI. I must once again thank Volkswagen Motorsport, Max Krause Racing, Sparco and all our partners for making this incredible opportunity, and my Nordschleife experience a reality,” Mogotsi said.

The Nürburgring 24-hour runs over the weekend of 18 and 19 May. The entire race will be live streamed with live timing also available at www.24h-rennen.de
