It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Brandt van der Merwe, a well loved and respected member of our motorsport community. Brandt spent more than a decade involved in the sport, competing in Rally and Off Road events with the Natal Motorcycle and Car Club, later serving as a Scrutineer with the KZN Road Racing Club, and assisting as an Incident Marshal at Dezzi Raceway. He continued to enjoy competing in the Time Challenge class for many years.
Brandt was known for his calm manner, steady commitment, and willingness to help wherever he was needed. He was a true gentleman and a familiar friendly face in the paddock.
On behalf of MSA, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Elize, and their sons, Rocco and Adam. Brandt will be missed by all who knew him.
