Lupini launches Polo Cup fightback at Zwartkops

Giordano Lupini launches his come from behind CompCare Polo Cup campaign at Zwartkops’ third round Extreme Festival races on Saturday 20 May. Lupini, who missed the opening Polo races at Kyalami, returned for a wildcard one-off at Killarney. He went on to score a grand slam of pole position, both wins, and the fastest lap in each race.

That enabled Gio’s Tork Craft team to secure the budget necessary to race the remaining five Polo Cup rounds of the 2023 season. “First off, we must thank our sponsors for coming aboard for a full season after only committing to a one-off at Killarney. Happily our performance that weekend was enough to convince them to stay aboard!

“So special thanks to Tork Craft tools, Pabar Automotive Components, Red Earth Projects, Bullion IT and AcciDent Guru for your belief in us, and to everyone else supporting us this year! However, missing the first two races at Kyalami means we arrive in the lion’s den at most of our rival’s Zwartkops home track, so this weekend won’t be that easy.

“Nian and the lads at NDT have the Tork Craft Polo ready to race, we had good pace in our shakedown and we head to Pretoria looking for maximum points. We hope our fight back chasing Volkswagen Motorsport’s SupaCup prize factory drive will add great interest to the rest this year’s CompCare Polo Cup championship. We can’t wait. See you at Zwartkops!”

*Giordano Lupini thanks Tork Craft Tools and Vermont Sales, Pabar Automotive Components, Red Earth Projects, Bullion IT, AcciDent Guru, Habot Synthetic Lubricants, Franschhoek Signs, Seldenrod, Wheel Worx, Nian du Toit Racing, and all his regular supporters and fans for their continued support.
