Algoa Motorsport Club based at Aldo Scribante Raceway in the Coega IDZ near Markman continue their busy season on Saturday as they host round three of their Regional & Club Championships.

The following classes will be catered for in the busy race programme that culminates with a 45 minute endurance race, modified saloons, historics, classics, retro, open-top, street-cars as well as motorcycles.

The SA Mechanical Seal Coastal Challenge is where one sees a mix of classic, historic and retro cars from yesteryear putting on some amazing racing displays with door to door & bumper to bumper action. Derek Boy returns in his powerful Chevy Firenza CanAm in class A  & he will no doubt have his hands full fighting off Chris Nell in his very quick Spannerworx Ford Capri. In class C the EP Muffler sponsored Datsun 120Y in the hands of Tom Flynn has been a revelation with its new found pace after undergoing lots of development recently & it will certainly be one to watch as it hunts down the big Datsun Skyline of Rane Berry (Syrabix Recycling, PE Propshafts). Add the immaculately prepared Hi-Tech Doors, Le Mans Auto Services Ford Anglia of Darryn Vice in the mix with the SA Mechanical Seal Alfa Sud Sprint of Angelique Griffin & you are set for classic racing out of the top drawer.

Down the field in Class E the ding-dong battle for supremacy will no doubt continue between Barry Spriggs in his Electro Plating Services & Lochners Biltong Deli sponsored Ford Anglia & the revitalised Ronald Scott in his Stu Davidson & Sons sponsored Ford Escort.

Making a welcome return to motor racing after an extended break, is a man who does so much for all forms of motorsport behind the scenes. Kevin Kelly will be debuting a VW Scirocco in the colours of Xtreme Projects & Emerald Fire in the street & fine car class.

After having taken part in two open track days where drivers get the opportunity to put their road cars on the racetrack, Raymond Redinger has decided to up the ante & he has joined forces with the Pit-Pro Racing Team and will be behind the wheel of the ex-Staci Allan VW Golf Mk1, competing in the modified saloon class.

Another future star making his debut is young Craig Benn who will be joining the very competitive CBR150 junior motorcycle class & he is certainly no stranger to two wheels after having competed in many enduro events, whilst his uncle Timothy Benn will out on track racing for the first time on a Suzuki GSXR in the Unlimited class.

Gates open to the public at 6:30am, with qualifying starting at 8:30am and the first race scheduled for 10:30am. Tickets are available at the gate at a cost of R50 per single entry or alternately R100 per vehicle regardless of the number of occupants, so spectators are urged to bring along a friend or two to enjoy the on-track action.
