Mogotsi keen to close his SATC SupaCup career on a high
Volkswagen Motorsport will end a memorable era when it races at the Zwartkops Raceway’s National Extreme Festival Finals Presented by Coca-Cola on Saturday 25 October. With exciting plans for the new 2026 season, Jonathan Mogotsi is keen to close his illustrious SATC SupaCup campaign on a high. Teammate Jason Loosemore is after another race win and rookie Judd Bertholdt is out for his maiden Astron Energy Polo Cup victory in Pretoria.
“As we approach the end of another, epic Volkswagen Motorsport racing season, we are also in the process of finalising some thrilling new plans for the season ahead, “Volkswagen Head of Motorsport Mike Rowe explains. “We will of course roll our future plans out in due course, but for now we look forward to ending the current season and a memorable racing era for the team in style in Pretoria.
“Jonathan Mogotsi has delivered another exemplary season in the SATC SupaCup. He will be keen to close off that part of his career with a strong performance at Zwartkops. Jason Loosemore has now tasted success and wants another win in Pretoria. Our rookie Judd Bertholdt has not only proven the success of our Rookie Cup program, but he’s impressed greatly in the Astron Energy Polo Cup this season and if anyone deserves a maiden win this weekend, its Judd. Good luck to the entire team!”
“I have enjoyed a brilliant past three seasons with Volkswagen Motorsport in the SATC SupaCup and I look forward to closing it off in style at Zwartkops,” 2024 SupaCup champion Jonathan Mogotsi promises. “I know my Volkswagen Motorsport team will hand me a Genuine Parts Volkswagen Motorsport SupaPolo that’s ready to win at Zwartkops and that’s precisely what I intend to do!”
“I’m delighted to have scored my first SATC SupaCup victory last time out and it would be really cool to end my season in my Astron Energy Volkswagen Motorsport SupaPolo off with another win,” Jason Loosemore, who earned his SupaCup drive by winning the 2024 Astron Energy Polo Cup championship, admitted. “I have loved working with my team too and I’m really at home in the car now. So here’s to a great weekend and a huge shout out to the lads as always.”
Volkswagen Motorsport Rookie Cup champion Judd Bertholdt likewise earned his Astron Energy Polo Cup drive by winning that title: “I have ticked every box I wanted to in my first season aboard my Volkswagen Rookie Cup Polo GTI, except one,” Judd admits. “Now I have just this weekend left to achieve that final objective and win my first Polo Cup race! Either way, I’ve enjoyed a brilliant season, so I really cannot wait to strap in this weekend. Thanks team!”
“It’s been a great 2025 season and a positive program over the past few years, so we look forward to closing off in winning style,” Mike Rowe concludes. “Let’s give them something to really write about!”
