This Saturday, Luhan De Wet makes his sixth appearance of the season at the Formula-K Kart Circuit in Benoni as the third round of the MSA Northern Regions ROK Karting Championship gets underway.

The Benoni circuit will host its third consecutive regional ROK competition, having held rounds in February and April this season. De Wet has also competed in two regional Rotax and a national round at the same venue. Competing in the regional Cadet (ROK) and regional Bambino (Rotax) classes of the Northern Regions championships, the Grade 1 pupil from Centurion currently leads both. With an unbeaten record, De Wet will look to add to his six heat victories thus far.

“We are back at FK this weekend, where it is starting to feel like this is the only circuit at the moment,” De Wet said jokingly. “Although the layouts differ across the two classes, it’s a short lap, and you can’t afford to make any mistakes as it can be challenging to make up any time lost. The last Cadet turnout was pretty poor, and I’m hoping there will be a few more competitors this weekend. Regardless, I will push myself to improve and stay ahead of whoever competes.”

The Cadet class will compete over the 750 m anti-clockwise A-Layout as with the previous round. Qualifying starts at 10:02, with three race heats to follow at 12:13, 14:51 and 16:52, respectively. All heats will be six laps.
