Rarely without a smile or kind word the Killarney Stig lapped the 3.267km circuit as quickly as anyone when required and could claim to have led the fastest cars in South African motorsport on more than one occasion.

Introducing “newcomers” to motorsport with a leisurely (in his words) lap around Killarney normally resulted in these passengers developing a genuine respect for those who race in each category. Without exception everyone always complimented The Killarney Stig on being exceptionally calm whilst being exceptionally quick.

Whether Dave “The Killarney Stig” Malan was on his motorcycle, behind the wheel of his beloved Nissan 350Z or MGB or the monster RS8 Audi pace car the sheer pleasure was visible to all. A regular face on rallies and a great sport, participating in the SAGMJ Treasure Hunt with the mighty Mercedes GLE63 and André “Chequered Flag” Grewe as navigator will always be treasured.
Without a doubt another valued contributor to the Blue Plague status of the Killarney International Raceway! Rallies will miss you, the Crankhandle Club will miss you and the friendly greet exiting Turn 5 will be sorely missed!

Keep the grid orderly!
