Campos and a mystery driver join KC, Julian & Andy

Chemical Logistics Racing returns to a five car line-up for the first time since the middle of the 2025 season when the South African Touring Cars visit Red Star Raceway near Delmas for the second round of the National Extreme Festival on Saturday 18 April. Previous season title challenger Keegan Campos and a mystery second driver will join championship leaders, rookie sensation KC Ensor-Smith, and veteran Julian van der Watt and Andrew Schofield in the team for the Mpumalanga meeting.

“We are delighted to confirm two more drivers will be joining Chemical Logistics Racing’s 2026 South African Touring Cars line-up at Red Star,” team principal Ian Schofield announced. “We welcome Keegan Campos back alongside another most exciting driver. We can’t confirm who the second driver is yet, but he and Keegan will give championship leaders KC and Julian, Andy, and the rest, more than just something to think about on the tight and twisty Delmas tack. All the best to the entire team.”

“Regarding our mystery driver, all we can tell you is that he will be driving a brand new third Investchem WCT Volkswagen Golf GTI,” WCT team boss Stuart Thompson smiled. “The car is ready to race and completes a formidable three car team racing out of our garage alongside KC and Julian. But you’ll have to wait and see who drives it. All I can add is that it’s going to be worth that wait!”

Keegan Campos cannot wait to get back behind the wheel of his Campos Racing Chemical Logistics FAST BMW 128ti. “Unfortunately we’ve once again missed the first round,” Keegan points out. “So it’s a little more difficult to chase the championship, but we came pretty close to pulling that off last year. Rest assured that we are out to get it right this year, which means we need a quick, clean, and consistent season. And that starts at Red Star this weekend. Bring it on!”

Log leader KC Ensor-Smith is still over the moon following his dream debut at Killarney in his African Heating Investchem WCT Volkswagen Golf GTI. “The only problem is that fosters the expectation of more of the same!” KC frowned. “Not that it’s a problem and for sure I will be out to keep up my winning ways, but we certainly don’t expect it to be that way every time we strap in. Either way, I’m also looking forward to the extra competition inside our team and out, so we can’t wait for Red Star this weekend.”

Julian van der Watt is eyeing a clean Red Star weekend in his Investchem WCT Volkswagen Golf GTI. “We had a very good run with pole and a race win at Killarney, but we still have a little work to do to dial the gremlins out” Julian promised. “So we’ll be working very hard to get it all right in Delmas, where a clean weekend can make all the difference to how we plan the rest of the season. See you at Red Star!”

Delighted with his opening weekend, Andrew Schofield will be looking for more of the same in his FlySafair Chemical Logistics FAST BMW 128ti at Red Star. “We head to Delmas on the front foot after most successful and enjoyable South African Touring Cars outing at Killarney last time,” Andy admits. “We’re also back to a two car team, which is always a bonus, and it’s good to have the Campos clan in our pit. So here’s to another great outing at Red Star. Can’t wait!
