Unstoppable Visser continues unbeaten at East London

Charl Michael Visser continued his charge toward the 2023 CompCare Polo Cup title with another crushing double victory aboard his Universal Racing Team Red Volkswagen at the weekend’s National Extreme Festival at his favourite East London Grand Prix Circuit.

Not only did Visser deliver another clean sweep pole position and both race wins, but it was also his fourth race win on the trot, and his sixth win in the year’s eleven races so far. “That was almost another perfect weekend!” a delighted Charl reported. “We just missed out on the two fastest lap bonus points and I had to fight back into the lead of both races, but otherwise, what a day!

“I also further consolidated my championship lead and we can now look at just defending it at my home race at Killarney on 10 September, and then at Zwartkops in October. But this year has really been a dream come true in so many ways. It’s been a huge effort by everyone concerned to make a real difference and there are several people I need to thank.

“To my parents and my brother, and my mechanic Zefrey, my driver trainer Devin for all the coaching and effort and to Ian Rayner and Universal Racing for the perfect car every time and my sponsor, Hein Kleinscmidt from Tyre Zone. Also a special word of thanks to Kelsey and Nick, and to the Border Motorsport Club for making the East London Grand Prix Circuit feel like my second home!

“It’s not over yet, but we are now in a strong position, so it’s time to box clever and fulfilling my next motor racing dream of the CompCare Polo Cup championship come true. See you at Killarney 10 September where we will continue toward making it all come true!”
