Max Boshoff returns to Red Star Raceway this weekend as the National ROK Cup Karting Championship gets underway, with the reigning Mini ROK national champion embarking on a new chapter in the highly competitive OKJ class.
Having claimed top honours in Mini ROK, Max now steps up the karting ladder in 2026, facing a fresh challenge against a deeper and more experienced field. However, the transition into OKJ is already underway, with the young talent having made his class debut earlier this season in the opening round of the Northern Regions ROK Karting Championship. There, Max delivered a composed performance to secure third overall, underlining both his adaptability and continued development.
Racing under the Kokoro Racing Academy banner this season, Max will be focused on building momentum as he returns to a circuit he knows well. The fast and flowing Red Star Raceway layout will host a double-header weekend, with Rounds 1 and 2 forming part of an eight-round national campaign.
With valuable seat time already gained in the OKJ category and early silverware secured at regional level, Max heads into the national opener with clear intent. While the step up presents new challenges, his proven racecraft and steady progression position him as one of the young drivers to watch as the 2026 season unfolds.
“I’m really excited to get the national season underway and to be racing in OKJ,” said Max. “The step up is a big challenge, but we’ve already made good progress at the regional round. The goal this weekend is to keep improving, stay consistent, and fight for strong results as we build into the championship.”
Friday will see official practice with qualifying and heats on Saturday and Sunday.
