With the support of the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and Motorsport South Africa (MSA), Border Motocross Club successfully hosted a Mini-X Training Day at Wetherd MX Park on Sunday, 28 June 2026. The programme is part of Motorsport South Africa’s initiative to introduce newcomers to motocross in a safe, structured and fun environment.
The Mini-X Training Day attracted 19 participants, and two separate training sessions were conducted to cater for the different age groups, ensuring that all participants received instructions suited to their level of experience.
The programme focused on introducing new riders to the fundamentals of motocross, covering essential topics such as safety protocols, rules and regulations, correct riding techniques, braking, cornering, standing position, track awareness, basic motorcycle maintenance and the importance of wearing the correct safety gear.
Each rider received a certificate of completion, a branded goodie bag, a water bottle and a keyring, along with a food and sweet pack.
Border Motocross Club extends its sincere thanks to the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and Motorsport South Africa (MSA) for their support, which made this initiative possible. The club looks forward to hosting more Training Days as it continues to grow motocross participation in the Border region.
