This weekend, Farhaan Basha returns to the Killarney International Raceway for the return leg of the CompCare Polo Cup season and the penultimate round of the championship.

Ranked sixth in the championship, Basha, who drives out of the QVWI Motorsport stable, has recorded a pair of third-place finishes, the first being at the Cape circuit in March. Since then, the Johannesburg resident has been a consistent top-six performer but is keen on improving his season results and claiming his maiden win.

With a bit of good fortune, he could still mathematically finish third overall. This weekend will also see three races instead of the usual two, which will further assist him in achieving that goal.

“Excited at the prospect of heading back to Killarney. It’s one of the best circuits on the calendar that offers a bit of everything. Our last outing there wasn’t too bad, but we’ve had niggly issues throughout the season. Qualifying will again be important as it can make or break your weekend. But the car has been good of late despite some fierce racing. I’m confident we can bring home a strong result,” stated Basha.

Three practice sessions are scheduled for Friday, followed by Qualifying (15:50). Two ten-lap races are planned for Saturday at 10:30 and 13:25, with a 12-lap race at 15:45. The entire event will be live-streamed on race day and available on the Volkswagen Motorsport South Africa Facebook page.
