Zwartkops set for epic ATE VW Challenge action
The ATE VW Challenge returns home to Zwartkops Raceway for its appointment at the fifth round Gauteng Northern Regions Extreme Festival where all three classes storm into action with their title chases quite literally poised on a knife’s edge. All of which makes a trip to the Pretoria racetrack to watch it go down first hand into an unbeatable way to celebrate the onset of spring on Saturday 12 September.
Josh Moore seized the advantage to jump into the overall and Class A championship lead with a double win down at the Bay in his Worx BPW Puma Polo. His advantage over Chris Tait’s King Price Extreme car is the greatest of the three class chases at just ten points, with erstwhile leader Anthony Lessing and his Raless Polo 6R sit just two points adrift in third. Francis Aldrich is ready to win following his maiden Aldo Scribante pole position, AutoZone man Stuart Mack returns and Dewald Theron is back in Class A.
It’s even closer in Class B with Applied Heat lad Sebastian Bouilliart in a five point lead over fellow rookie Keyaan Dwomoh’s Adhive car. Northern Bolt & Tool youngster Jonathan Konig and GTI Generators man Chris Davison are also too close for comfort, while Keegan Nathan sat the last race out to injury and will be raring to get back behind the wheel. Don’t ignore Class C champion Martin de Beer and Century rookie Max Corbett either.
Class C will be back to strength back home. All eyes are now on new leader Northern Bolt lad Stuart Konig’s two point battle with erstwhile leader Bryce Pillay’s Phishrod Vivo. Behind them, watch Elna Croeser’s progress as the ATE Vivo closes Dimitri Zapheriou down in the chase. Andy Gossman’s Cardoc Vivo is always ready to pounce and newcomers, Hencom lad Brendon van Gend and Lebo Mokutu are out to impress.
Always entertaining, half the size, twice the fun Zwartkops is sure to add a spice to an already spectacular ATE VW Challenge show on Saturday. See you at the races!
