Alibhai keen to make up British F4 lost ground in round 2

It’s a short turnaround for Aqil Alibhai before the second round RoKIt British Formula 4 championship weekend at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit on the weekend 6-7 May, but the Jozi race driver cannot wait to race at the historic English racetrack. Especially since Alibhai showed such great pace at the season opener, where he was all out of luck last weekend.

“I cannot wait for round 2 at Brands Hatch,” Aqil admitted. “Overall, Donington was a positive experience. I had the pace to fight at the front, but besides a mega fifth from the back in race 2, luck just was not on our side. The red flag stopped qualifying at the end of my best lap, I was taken out of the first race, and the car stopped before the start of the final.

“But I scored a whole bunch of bonus points for all those overtakes, we now know that I have great pace and I really enjoyed driving the car in the wet, which is pretty vital racing here in Blighty! Virtuosi Racing did a great job, we are working well together and I’m looking forward to the next round.

Thanks to my sponsor Into Africa for believing in me, to Kokoro Performance for all the guidance and to all my fans for all the support. I am working really hard to improve, so bring on Brands Hatch!”
