Alibhai keen to show pace throughout British F4 weekend

It will be his third race meeting in just four weeks, but South African race driver Aqil Alibhai cannot wait for Snetterton’s Round 3 of the RoKIt British Formula 4 Championship in England over the weekend of 20 and 21 May. Most of all however, young Alibhai is after a clean weekend after a few tough breaks in the opening two rounds.

“There’s good reason why we’re so looking forward to round 3 at Snetterton,” Aqil explains. “My pace has been good whatever the conditions both at Donington’s season opener and at Brands Hatch last week, so it’s been a very positive experience. I have had the pace to fight at the front, and easily run and finish up front, but luck has just not been on our side.

“Qualifying has been tricky with so much traffic and red flags curbing the sessions, so it’s important to try to improve a bit there. To start a little higher up the grid should also help keep us away from all the trouble that’s come looking for me so far in the first two rounds! Whatever happens, the target is to bring it home in all three races and score good points.”

First year British F4 racer Aqil has impressed when allowed to do so, finishing in the top six in every race he has finished so far this season. “That’s why I’m really looking forward to the weekend. I really cannot wait, bring it on!”
