ICAN Management’s Luviwe Sambudla wins Round 1, Mahlori Mabunda claims P2, as the South African-born outfit begins its second F4 India season chasing FIA Super Licence points on the road to Formula 1.
Coimbatore, India — ICAN Management, the South African-born driver talent management company developing African racing drivers on a pathway to Formula 1, opened its 2026 FIA Formula 4 India Championship campaign with a win and a second place at Round 1, held at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore, over the weekend of 12–13 September 2026.
Luviwe Sambudla took victory for ICAN Management, while team-mate Mahlori Mabunda delivered a strong second-place finish, giving the programme a South African one-two at the very first opportunity of the season.
The result marks a powerful start to ICAN’s second campaign in the FIA-certified championship. Beyond race results, the team’s objective in India is clear: to accumulate racing experience and the FIA Super Licence points that are a mandatory requirement for any driver hoping to reach Formula 1.
Mpho Elijah Gumbi (“MEG”), Founder and Director of ICAN Management, said:

Luviwe Sambudla said:

ICAN Management now turns its attention to Round 2 of the championship, taking place on 19–20 September 2026, where both drivers will look to build on the opening weekend’s momentum.
