Cape Swartland Motorcycle Club (CSMX), with the continued support of Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and Motorsport South Africa (MSA), successfully hosted its second FIM Mini-E Junior Enduro Camp from 3 to 5 July 2026 at Club Elani, Misverstand Dam in the Western Cape.
The camp formed part of CSMX’s Junior Development Programme, which is designed to introduce young riders to the sport of Enduro while helping them build confidence, improve their riding ability and become part of the growing Enduro community.
Following the success of the first camp earlier this year, the latest edition welcomed 21 junior riders, including 10 newcomers attending their first CSMX event. The weekend provided a valuable opportunity for young riders to develop their skills under the guidance of experienced coaches while creating lasting friendships on and off the bike.
The coaching team, led by Zak Gulliver and Jan Ryan, together with experienced CSMX marshals, delivered structured training covering riding techniques, safety, bike control, throttle management and line selection. Riders were divided into smaller groups according to their experience, allowing each participant to receive personalised coaching throughout the weekend.
In addition to the riding activities, the camp created a welcoming environment for families. From shared meals and evening activities to parents connecting around the braai, the weekend reinforced the strong sense of community that continues to define Enduro in the Western Cape.
The positive feedback received from both riders and parents highlighted the growing demand for junior development opportunities, with many already expressing interest in the next camp. CSMX plans to host additional junior training activities later this year as it continues investing in the future of the sport.
CSMX also acknowledged the dedication of its volunteers, coaches, marshals, committee members and parents, as well as the support of the FIM, Motorsport South Africa and numerous sponsors whose contributions helped make the camp possible.
By creating a safe, supportive and enjoyable environment, the CSMX Junior Development Programme continues to introduce new riders to Enduro while developing the next generation of South African Off-Road competitors.
