Monster Energy is one of the Simola Hillclimb’s longest-running partners, having been involved with South Africa’s premier motoring and motorsport lifestyle event since 2017. The relationship continues in 2026 with the energy drinks company bringing its unique blend of adrenaline and excitement to the event once again this year.
“The Simola Hillclimb is a truly unique event that resonates with Monster Energy. The speed, the skill of the drivers on show and the lifestyle element make it one of the crown jewels in the South African motor racing calendar. Monster Energy is proud to be associated with the fastest hillclimb in the world, and to be fuelling the competitors on the track each day,” says Jéann Steyn, Monster Energy Regional Marketing Manager for South Africa.
The dynamic brand will once again host its popular Monster Energy Zone activation at Turn 2, with fan engagements including a photobooth, sampling of new and loved products, Monster Girl interactions, and one of the best viewing decks of the event.
“We are excited to have just launched our newest flavour, Strawberry Dreams, and will also have our limited edition Lando Norris can, which will be available to spectators and racers to experience when they visit the Monster Energy Zone,” Steyn says.
Always a highlight for spectators, the Monster Drift Taxi, driven by Jim McFarlane, will be in action with a drift demo at the Classic Car Friday Parade on the afternoon of 30 April and the King of the Hill Parade on the afternoon of 1 May in Knysna. The V8-powered machine will perform its spectacular smoke-churning drifts up the Simola Hill course during the lunchtime entertainment on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (1-3 May).
“Monster Energy has been one of our most dynamic and enthusiastic partners over the past decade, bringing a great vibe and party atmosphere to the Simola Hillclimb each year. While our partnership started off with a few small activations, it has grown over the years to offer our attendees exciting, engaged activities at the track and in town. It is fantastic to have the brand’s continued support and participation in 2026, and we look forward to another decade of partnership,” says Ian Shrosbree, MD of the Knysna Speed Festival, which owns and runs the Simola Hillclimb.
The 16th edition of the Simola Hillclimb takes place from 30 April to 3 May 2026.
