Motorsport South Africa (MSA) is proud to announce the launch of the 2026 MSA Short Circuit GP Series, a dynamic Club-level Championship designed to develop South Africa’s next generation of motorcycle racing talent.
The Short Circuit GP Series forms a critical stepping stone for riders with National and International ambitions, providing a structured, safe, professionally administered pathway into higher levels of circuit racing and ensuring South African riders have the necessary experience when competing internationally.
2026 CALENDAR HIGHLIGHTS
The 2026 season will consist of six action-packed rounds, hosted across some of the country’s premier circuits:
Round 1: 28 February 2026 – Vereeniging Kart Circuit
Round 2: 28 March 2026 – Redstar Raceway
(In conjunction with the Redstar Social Motorcycle Series)
Round 3: 30 May 2026 – Formula K Kart Circuit
Round 4: 2 August 2026 – Redstar Raceway
(In conjunction with the Redstar Social Motorcycle Series)
Round 5: 12 September 2026 – Vereeniging Kart Circuit
Round 6 (Finale): 28 November 2026 – Redstar Raceway
(In conjunction with the Redstar Social Motorcycle Series)
AFFORDABLE ENTRY FEES
MSA has worked closely with promoters and venues to make the Championship as accessible as possible:
R1,500 per round (all classes) – R750 for a second entry and/or siblings. This pricing structure is aimed at supporting families and encouraging broader participation.
LICENCING & MEDICAL COVER
An MSA Annual Club Short Circuit GP Licence can be purchased via the MSA Licence system, www.msaonline.co.za at a cost of R799.00.
Group Personal Accident Cover, with MSA providing full support in the administration of claims.
Competitors can choose from four accident cover options, with benefits applicable on a per-claim basis:
Option 1: R978 – R50,000 accident cover
Option 2: R1,122 – R150,000 accident cover
Option 3: R2,970 – R250,000 accident cover
Option 4: R4,572 – R500,000 accident cover
WHY A CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP?
MSA’s affiliation with the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) enables future development at continental level. Plans are already underway for the launch of the first-ever FIM Africa Circuit Motorcycle Continental Championship, which requires a structured Club Championship as its foundation. Further announcements will be made during the course of the year.
PRIZES & INCENTIVES
The 2026 season brings exciting rewards for competitors.
Family Fitness comes on board as a sponsor of the Supermoto class. Prize money will be awarded at every round:
1st place: R4,000
2nd place: R2,500
3rd place: R2,000
4th place: R1,000
5th place: R500
In addition, MSA has secured 12 signed caps from Brad and Darryn Binder.
All competitors will be entered into a lucky draw at each event, with two caps awarded per round.
