Five leading Tar Oval clubs to compete under MSA sanction from 2026
Motorsport South Africa (MSA) and Speedspot Promotions SA are pleased to announce that they have entered a six-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under which Speedspot‑affiliated Tar Oval clubs will compete under MSA sanction from 01 January 2026. The agreement provides for MSA licencing, medical and public liability insurance frameworks, officials’ training and track inspections to ensure consistent national standards across the Tar Oval discipline.
The initial participating clubs are: Ultimate Raceway (Izak Spies), Rock Raceway (Shane Bromilou), Mahem Raceway (Ian van Niekerk & Jacques Maree), Star Raceway (Jannie Ebersohn) and Richards Bay Oval (Neville Loosemore). The parties anticipate that additional clubs will join following the announcement.
MSA looks forward to working closely with the Tar Oval clubs to create an inclusive motorsport environment for Tar Oval clubs and Tar Oval competitors, grounded in nationally aligned safety, medical, environmental and safeguarding standards, and supported by structured training, licencing and development pathways.
