Six-car Red-Lined team heads for Western Cape Karoo
Red-Lined Motorsport heads to new terrain for round 4 of the South African Rally-Raid Championship based at the Louvain Guest Farm in the Western Cape on the edge of the Little Karoo 19-20 September. Three Red-Lined team entries will be backed by three privateer entries on the Championship’s return to the Cape for the first time in over a decade.
“It’s new territory through the Western Cape’s Little Karoo and across the Outeniqua and Kammanassie Mountains this weekend,” Red-Lined founder and CEO Terence Marsh confirmed. “We’ll be taking a three-car factory team to the Outeniqua 400 event, backed by three trusty and experienced privateer outfits, all of whom will be out chasing great results as always.”
The factory trio include ?Jayden Els and Johan Swemmer in the FIA T1+ class Red-Lined REVO GT-R looking to bounce back after an unlucky crash last time out. They will be backed by two SA T1+ class Red-Lined REVO V8 crews, Danie Ludick and Denzil Williamson’s in their Elegant Fuels REVO, and ?Philip Botha and Andries Mynhardt in their Penta Motor Group REVO. Both of whom will be out to continue on their recent good form.
Among the privateers, Namibians Marko Himmel and Francois Schoonbee arrive in the Cape as the current championship leaders and fresh off their third round Parys win in their SA T1+ class Red-Lined EVO 1. The experienced Dutch couple of Dave and Tessa Klaassen are also back in their FIA T1+ class Daklapack Rallysport REVO GT-R while Johan de Bruyn and Adriaan Roets in their Falken Tyres REVO T1 will be chasing a T1 class win after ending second in all previous three rounds to date.
The ever-competitive, Heinlein family are among the Red-Lined privateers who will skip the Outeniqua round due to business commitments. They are however expected to return for the following event in Vryheid. Their absence should leave de Bruyn and Roets with an easier run to a potential fourth consecutive VAPS HCV Red-Lined T1 Cup win.
“Motorsport adventure is at the very core of our Red-Lined ethos, so traveling to and racing in new territories is right up our alley so to speak,” Marsh concludes. “So, we are all super excited to head to the first running of the Outeniqua 400 down in the Western Province and look forward to what will hopefully be a competitive and rewarding weekend for everyone!”
