The MSA Motocross Commission, is excited to announce Mini-X 2025, a Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) funded grassroots motocross initiative aimed at developing the next generation of South African motocross riders.
The Mini-X project consists of dedicated training days focused on nurturing young talent in the 50cc, 65cc, and 85cc classes. These sessions are designed to provide essential skills, knowledge, and support to riders and their families as they begin their motocross journey.
Each training day includes:
- Rider coaching by former motocross Champions
- Fitness and conditioning sessions tailored to young riders
- Safety gear education and track safety protocols
- Basic bike maintenance and setup
- Emergency response guidance for riders and parents
In addition, many clubs are using these events to offer practical training for new and existing marshals, covering key areas such as flag usage, fire extinguisher handling, and marshal responsibilities. This ensures safety and preparedness across all levels of the sport.
The programme will build up to the Showcase event, a Mini-X Cup, scheduled for 4 October 2025 at BORC, where participants will put their new skills to the test in a fun and supportive race environment.
Mini-X 2025 is about more than racing. It’s about building a strong foundation for the future of motocross in South Africa.
