From the growl of the grid to the clouds of dust at the East London Dirt Oval Track, one name is starting to turn heads: Chayton Collins. At just 11 years old, this Border-born racer is already making waves in South Africa’s motorsport scene.

Racing is not just something Chayton does, it’s who he is. Growing up in a family where motorsport is a way of life, it was only a matter of time before he jumped behind the wheel. He officially hit the track at age eight, carrying forward a proud family legacy.

Today, Chayton is a regular on the Dirt Oval circuit, showing grit well beyond his years. One of his standout moments includes being crowned Driver of the Day at the Port Elizabeth Oval Track Raceway Hotrod Challenge a well earned recognition of both skill and heart.

So what keeps him coming back for more?

“The adrenaline, learning driving lines, getting to know my car and the friends you make along the way,” Chayton says with a grin.

He shares a special bond with his biggest supporter, his dad. Whether they are analysing the track or chatting in the pits, it’s clear that racing is a family affair. And when he’s not in the driver’s seat? You will probably find him kicking a rugby ball around with friends, keeping things fun and balanced.

His message to young aspiring racers?

“Listen, learn and have fun.” Simple, honest advice from a young talent with a bright future.

Keep your eye on Chayton. The dirt may fly, but this rising star is going places.
