Motorsport South Africa proudly invites all MSA accredited photographers, including trainees, to enter the 2026 Steve Wicks Photographer of the Year Award.
This is your opportunity to have your work recognised on the national stage and showcase your photography across the many facets of motorsport.
Following feedback from the Media Advisory Panel, the entry requirement has been changed from a single photograph to a portfolio of ten (10) photographs. The Panel felt that this would provide a better assessment of consistency and overall quality.
Each photographer may submit a portfolio of ten (10) of their finest motorsport photographs, capturing not only the racing itself, but also the people, passion, atmosphere and stories that bring an event to life.
Entries must:
Be in digital format, with each photograph between 3MB and 6MB
Be submitted without watermarks
Include a short description of the moment captured
State the MSA event name, date and location for each photograph
Consist of ten (10) photographs
Be compressed into one ZIP file before uploading
Photographers may also include a Word document within the ZIP file containing a short description of each photograph and the moment captured
Your portfolio will be judged by an independent panel of experts, who will assess the work based on consistency, overall quality and its ability to capture the spirit of South African motorsport.
