Following the President’s speech last night, there is obviously a great deal of excitement within motorsport circles regarding the sport resuming as soon as possible.
The written regulations that follow a speech by the President are what is now important. MSA has already made a submission to government regarding the resumption of motorsport and is working on a second submission in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Sports Minister a few days ago. Following the President’s speech, some modifications may need to be made to this submission before it is finalised. Essentially, the submission is MSA’s plan for the resumption of motorsport as safely and responsibly as possible and this is what government is looking for. MSA hopes to have greater clarity within the coming days, and will communicate again when this is the case, but for now is confident that motorsport will be able to resume in the short term.
