This week IndyCar together with their platform partner iRace put on a real corker on a virtual Twin Rings of Motegi in Japan. Despite the IndyCar series having last visited the circuit in 2011, the current crop of drivers took to the Japanese oval like ducks to water. Kevin Dejewski reports on the action that was anything but virtual...
Formula 1 held their third round of their virtual F1 GP series with the Virtual Chinese Grand Prix on a virtual Shanghai International last night and this week we had seven current F1 drivers on the grid. Kyle Francis reports on how Charles Leclerc is fast becoming the master of virtual racing as he took his second win in a row.
IMSA have also chosen iRacing and we have to say that their IMSA iRacing Pro Series held on a virtual Laguna Seca on Thursday evening was just outstanding. When you see some of the images in Davey Euwema's report, you might well be forgiven for thinking that live IMSA racing had returned without them telling us...
On the feature front this week, Jerry Williams has the first of a new series about WRC drivers he has known; this week it's Colin McRae. Then Phillip Horton tries to analyse just how Formula 1 might come back when this current global pandemic allows while Davey Euwema has written a beautiful tribute to the Porsche 917 and the man that turned it into a race winner, the legendary engineer John Horsman who sadly passed away last Monday.
And as always we have all the usual news, views and stories in this week's edition of the most widely read weekly motorsport magazine in the world!
