Following a successful debut in Cape Town, Total Excellium Racing is determined to improve on its performance as the team heads to Port Elizabeth for Round 4 of the Falken Polo Cup Championship.

Having shown good race pace at Killarney International Raceway, both drivers, Justin and Darren Oates, are confident that they are able to improve on their Cape Town performance. Key to a quick lap time in Port Elizabeth will be a perfect set-up, with the 2.48 km Aldo Scribante Racetrack offering little room for error with its tight and narrow turns. The push-to-pass option will also be a significant factor during the races which will assist with overtaking, most prominently at the end of the long start-finish straight. Another noteworthy feature will be the running of three races, instead of the customary two. This will see increased wear on the Falken race tyre, which could play a significant role in the outcome of the final race.

Both Darren and Justin are looking forward to Port Elizabeth following a successful practice session last week at Zwartkops Raceway. Following the practice session, they each had the following to say: “I definitely think we have what it takes for a one-two finish. Following a disappointing 2018 season, I started the season lacking confidence. Killarney was however a good confidence booster for me and I believe I can win again,” stated Darren.

“I’m really excited for PE as it has always been my favourite circuit. I feel I’m a more complete driver this year compared to previous years and am looking forward to challenging for the win again. The car performed well today in practice and I’m satisfied with our preparations heading to Aldo (Scribante Racetrack),” said Justin.

Over 14-15 June, spectators can expect another exciting round of the Falken Polo Cup from the Aldo Scribante Racetrack. Friday will see three practice sessions, with qualifying set for Saturday morning followed by a trio of races throughout the day.
