   Battle Resumes At Midvaal
The second round, of the 2010 Execuline South African National Formula Vee Championship, takes place at the Execuline Historic Tour, Aucor race day, at the Midvaal Raceway on the 6th March 2010. The event includes, races for the Aucor Lotus Challenge, Nashua Mobile Historic Saloon Cars, Nashua Mobile Historic Sports and GT Cars, Execuline Marque Cars, Hollard Classic Thoroughbred Saloon Cars, Etana Pre 1966 Sports and GT Cars, Nashua Mobile Pre 1966 Legends Production Cars and Aucor Historic Motorcycles.

The first Formula Vee event, kicks off the day’s racing at 10-20, with the second heat scheduled for 14-22 and should produce plenty of close, multi car battles. A number of last year’s top drivers, are not competing this year but others have stepped up to the plate and the lead battle, at Midvaal, should be as intense as ever. Ex National Champions Peter Hills (MLS Consulting Rhema 2) and Symm Grobler (Auto Mecca Rhema 2), along with Zaahir Essa (Rhema) and Johan Gouws (Mantis), provide the experience up front but current Championship log leader, Nicholas Tennant (Execuline Tennant Rhema 2) and Paul Venter (Nashua Mobile Laser) who set the fastest lap in East London, have already declared their intention, of challenging the established championship contenders.

Others to watch out for, include Ben Pienaar (BJ Pro Welding Rhema 2), Jannie Geyser Snr (Vision), Nico Blignaut (Gilus IT SAP Rhema 2), Greg Wilson (Reflex Technologies Rhema 2), Alan Eustice (Execuline Tennant Rhema 2), the father, son team of Mark Stewart (Rhema 2) and Mile Stewart (Rhema 1), Hugo Wallendorf (Lantis), Luca Canderle (Mr Price Red Vision) and Henk Swanepoel, in a new (Rent a Renovator Rhema 2). Making her Formula Vee racing debut, at the Midvaal event, will be Tasj Van Dyk (Omega), following in a long tradition of competitive Formula Vee lady drivers, the most successful of whom, where Judy Witter, the first female circuit racing South African National Champion and Brakpan’s Desire Wilson, the second female circuit racing National Champion, in South Africa and the only woman in the world, to have won a race, in a Formula One car!
