NEW SPONSOR FOR ABSA OFF ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP
The Absa Off Road Championship has landed another blue chip sponsor.

Donaldson Filtration Systems, a leading worldwide provider of filtration systems, has joined Ford and Toyota as partners with Absa in a series that is a jewel in the South African motorsport crown. Donaldson, who supported Nissan Motorsport during the 2009 season, will also have naming rights for the prologues, to determine grid positions, run prior to races.

"We had a highly successful 2009 season with the Donaldson Nissan team finishing first, second and third in the championship," said Donaldson managing director Rob Simpson. "We are happy to continue our association with the Absa Off Road Championship and the MSA Off Road Car Racing Commission.

"Our motto is 'give us dirt, we'll give you champions!' and we look forward to continuing our reputation of supplying superior filtration systems to the automotive industry."

Simpson added Donaldson filtration systems were designed to enhance customer equipment performance and to protect the environment. The company is technology and performance driven, and satisfies customer needs via more than 100 manufacturing, sales and distribution locations around the world.

MSA Off Road Car Racing Commission president Richard Schilling said the commission was delighted to welcome Donaldson to the off road fold. It was a further indication, he said, of the solid position off road racing enjoyed in South African motorsport.

"With the ongoing support of committed sponsors and partners like Absa, Donaldson, Ford and Toyota the sport enjoys a solid platform with great potential for future growth," said Schilling. "A naming rights sponsor for the prologues is an important development, and we are looking forward to a long and mutually rewarding association with Donaldson."

The opening round of this year's Absa Off Road Championship, the Adenco 400 in Darling in the Western Cape, will be run on March 19 and 20.
