ASA FREE STATE 500 TELEVISION WORLDWIDE DISTRIBUTION LIST CONTINUES TO GROW

WELKOM, FREE STATE, SOUTH AFRICA (Friday, January 29, 2010) - Television networks from around the world are signing up to show a tape-delayed broadcast of the ASA Transcontinental Series Free State 500 event that will take place on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Phakisa Freeway Circuit in Welkom, Free State, South Africa. The list continues to grow as the event is only two days away.
"This is exciting to see the interest that this event is receiving worldwide," Dennis Huth, ASA President said. "This event is getting a lot of attention not only because it is the first of its kind in the Republic of South Africa but we also have a great field of drivers from all corners of the world."
SuperSport will broadcast a 13-minute preview at 18h30 on Saturday (January
30) on SS6 and SS6 Africa. There will be a 26-minute report on Saturday's qualifying at 18h45 on Sunday (January 31) on SS6 and SS6 Africa. The 207-lap 500-km main race on Sunday will feature in a 52-minute highlights programme at 17h20 on February 4 on SS2 and SS2 Africa
Television networks from over 71 countries have requested a copy of the event. Some who have already confirmed they will air the Free State 500

The inaugural event will feature some of the top talents from around the world including 1986 Daytona 500 champion Geoff Bodine, 19-year-old owner/driver Marc Davis, 2009 ASA Midwest Tour Champion Steve Carlson, 2009 ASA Northwest Tour Champion Gary Lewis, rising female drivers Tiff Daniels and Toni McCray and many more. A 24-car field is expected to start the event.
