The venue for the SA Motocross Grand Pix, Alkmaar Raceway, is situated on the N4, only 10km from the City of Nelspruit in Mpumulanga and in close proximity to the Nelspruit International Airport.
The circuit, built on 30 hectares of ground on the banks of the Crocodile River, has world-class facilities and the moderate to hot climate are conducive to racing.
The track, prior to undergoing changes to conform with the requirements of an international Motocross Circuit, was voted the top track in the Northern Regions in South Africa.
Victor Piccoto, owner of the land and improvements, started the circuit 18 years ago, initially as a short course, then flat track only running club events.
Five years ago the track moved into the regional motocross arena and its popularity amongst riders and spectators led them to apply for a licence from MSA to host National Motocross Championship events.
The length of the new Motocross Grand Prix track is 1.6km.
The GPS Co-Ordinates for the circuit are:
25° 26' 35.74" S
30° 49' 40.34" E
