Leyton Fourie has had a good start to the 2019 karting season, but his first real test of the year will be this weekend when he tackles the first round of the South African Rok Championship. The event will take place at Laserfiche Raceway on Saturday 16 March 2019 and boasts a strong entry filled with old foes and new competition.

“I am feeling exceptionally confident ahead of this event and feel that RKT have given me the best possible package. I aim to not only take my Kosmic kart to a race win, but am also intently focused on challenging for the OKJ championship title,” expressed Leyton.

Leyton claimed two podium finishes and ended fourth overall in the recent Northern Regions event, despite being forced off circuit in the first race.

“I don’t think my pace is in question, but results will sadly come down to luck and staying out of trouble. Unfortunately, one or two competitors have taken to playing bumper karts instead of racing. Being involved in any type of incident can have a major impact on all three races. My aim is therefore to get out in front during the early stages of the races and focus completely on staying there,” confirmed Leyton.

Leyton will be backed by Bidvest Compendium Insurance Brokers, Express Hire, Remote Hygiene and National Pride Trading.
