Anton Roux has been appointed as the Chairman of Motorsport South Africa (MSA).
Anton is a chartered accountant by profession and currently serves as a non-executive director on the boards of several companies. He has been involved in motorsport over the last 35 years in various roles as an official, team manager, competitor (not a very good one by his own admission!) and owns a business that restores and services Porsche vehicles.
Anton will focus on the implementation of the strategic plan that was approved by MSA’s board during 2018, comprising the following key aspects:
- How can MSA best assist all stakeholders in the motorsport eco system?
- A focus on transformation within the sport which will include defining the motorsport industry in South Africa as well as developing a training academy for race officials and marshals.
- Aim to obtain more industry support.
- Assist MSA to become the logical “Go-To” entity within South African motorsport. This aspect will include liaison with government and other regulatory bodies, as well as attracting more and younger people on the administrative side of the sport.
MSA welcomes Anton on board and wishes him well in his new position.
