After his dominant start to the 2018 MotorMart VW Challenge Championship, all eyes will be on Stiaan Kriel in his Pozidrive/Kalex Volkswagen Polo during Round 2 at Zwartkops Raceway. The Saturday, March 17 race day will again see him lining up on the grid with one goal ahead: Dominance.

Kriel clearly outpaced the rest of the field on the long straights at Midvaal Raceway. Although nearly 70% of the 2.5 km Zwartkops Raceway is being driven at full throttle, it is also known to be a very tight circuit which always provides close racing. It is a circuit that Kriel loves to compete on and where he has a good success rate: “We’ve always done well at Zwartkops, we will be aiming to keep that reputation intact. I do however expect a strong challenge from the rest of the Class A field. This will be a very exciting weekend.”

Kriel is no stranger to being an early championship leader, he found himself in a similar position during 2017: “There’s only one way to keep the pressure on the rest of the field, by constantly staying on top of every result sheet. Sadly we weren’t able to do so during the previous year, but the importance of doing this has sunk in. I’m aware that I’ll face some fierce competition this weekend, but we want to continue making hay while the sun is shining We will therefore be working hard to add another 23 points to our tally for the season. There will not be any half measures on breathers for us”

Kriel would like to thank his sponsors for making his 2018 season possible: Pozidrive, Kalex, Spanjaard, Racing with God, N4 Autocraft, Geardown Gearbox & Diff, SAX Shocks, Most Wanted Performance tuning and Bessie Bester Motors

In addition Kriel would also like to thank the associate sponsors of the MotorMart VW Challenge for making this exciting category possible: Norbrake Distribution, ATE Brakes, Dicktator Engine Management Systems, Yaskawa and BPM Engineering.
